Baz Ashmawy: 'I'm more focused on my family time now'

Getting ready to hit the road for the final series of 50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy, Baz Ashmawy has admitted his children’s still get upset when he leaves for long stints away.

The Dubliner, who has a 5-year-old daughter Hannah and three-year-old son Mahy with fiancee Tanya Evans, who has four other children from a previous relationship, revealed being away from his family definitely has an effect.

“I am a lot more focused on family time because it can be really hard to juggle that if you are away a lot,” Baz told the Herald.

“I was putting a friend’s case in the car who had stayed with us recently and my little girl just lost it. She thought it was my case and that I was heading off.

“They are very aware that when you go off on those journeys, you are not back for a long time,” he added.

Meanwhile, the 40-year-old admitted he hasn’t hit the pub in six months – insisting his kids come before pints with his friends.

“I haven’t drank in six months or so. I have kids so that is taking priority over going to the pub,” he said.
