First Dates Ireland has begun filming but things got awkward pretty fast after the producers realised that one of the couples had already been out together before.
The Irish version of the hit Channel 4 series is filmed in Dublin’s Gibson Hotel with show bosses thinking they had found a perfect pair.
When filming began however, the couple quickly realised they had already dated.

“How Irish is that? It’s never happened on UK’s First Dates but Ireland being Ireland, the guy and the girl, not only knew one another but had been out on a date before,” a source told the Irish Sun.
Since the couple were not technically on a First Date, the show decided to use them as background diners for one of the first episodes.
First Dates Ireland is due to air on RTE2 this Spring.
