Irish actor Aidan Turner has opened up about the shirtless photo of him from Poldark going viral.
Speaking about the famous scene which caused quite the stir on the internet, Aidan admitted he got in trouble for scything wrong.
“I got a scythe and my make-up artist Jackie Fowler painting something on my arm – yeah that’s just me smiling, just doing a bit of scything – it’s a very happy profession to have,” he joked of the famous topless photo.

“I got quite a lot of flack actually for the scything scene – I think there’s like an association in Britain going ‘mate you’re doing it wrong, you’re not getting it right’,
“It’s quite a relaxing thing to do and we had a guy and he’s brilliant, the chap who showed me how to do it on the day but it wasn’t dramatic enough and very Ross getting stuck in,” he told the Huffington Post.
“And when I started doing it, I could see him in the corner of my eye just shaking his head, he was so disappointed – you know he had showed me this little way of doing it where you rotate – kind of like putting on a golf green but I was like ‘mate that’s not going to work'”.

However his scything debacle didn’t end there as the Dubliner revealed he received some angry letters from the scything community.
“There was probably a bit of it yeah, I didn’t open it but I avoid that stuff but I’m sure it was there,” he admitted.
The handsome actor is said to have toppled Colin Firth’s Mr Darcy as the most talked about romantic lead for his role in Poldark but the 31-year-old jested that it’s because he had go shirtless.
“Colin Firth didn’t have to take his top off though – he kept it on and waded through a pond, I had to go full blown,” he laughed.
