Dragon's Den Gavin Duffy: 'I was reluctant to go back to the series'

Businessman Gavin Duffy has admitted he wasn’t sure about returning to Dragons’ Den – but is glad he did.

Going into its seventh series after a two-year hiatus, the entrepreneur revealed he had to think twice about signing on to the TV project.

“I was a bit of a reluctant bunny heading back to Dragons’ Den this year because I thought it was over. But I’m glad I did,” he told The Sun on Sunday.

Joined by previous co-stars Barry O’Sullivan and Eamonn Quinn, Gavin has two new colleagues this year.

Opening up about the new female Dragons, Budget Energy CEO Eleanor McEvoy and East Coast Bakehouse boss Alison Cowzer, the 55-year-old said they were an asset to the show.

“Alison really is a very sharp negotiator,” he said.

“As for Eleanor, all I can say about her is that she was great craic in there. She might come across as a tough nut but she was really good fun to work with.”

Dragon’s Den is back on screens tonight at 9:30pm on RTE One.
