Jack Reynor reveals the key to his success: 'I gave myself no other options'

Jack Reynor has revealed the key to his success was having no back up plan.

The Irish actor has made a name for himself in Hollywood with roles in movies like Transformers: Age of Extinction and now stars in the upcoming Sing Street.

The Wicklow native has admitted that when it came to his career, acting was the only option.

“I was very conscious that the only way I would really be able to properly make it in the industry was if I didn’t give myself a safety net,”  he said.

“If I put it all on the line, and basically went, ‘This is it, it’s do or die, I am giving myself no other options, I can only make this happen’. That is key.”

Jack explained there’s no difference between working on a big budget Hollywood movie and a smaller Irish flick, when he’s working his process is always the same.

“The way I look at it – whether I’m doing a movie that’s $400,000 or a movie that’s $150 million – when I’m doing a movie, I’m doing a movie.

“My approach to it is the same,” he told the Irish Independent.

“There’s never been a better time for Irish films than right now. There’s a lot of voices out there, a lot of really interesting people with very unique ideas.

“I’ve been blessed to work with some absolutely phenomenal Irish film-makers over the last couple of years.”
