Charlene McKenna has shut down any rumours she’s set to get engaged to her Ripper Street co-star Adam Rothenberg.
Currently based in New York with her actor boyfriend, the Monaghan beauty insisted she’s focusing on her next big project, buying a flat in London.
“God no, all I’m thinking of is buying a flat,” she said.

“I don’t know what I think about [marriage] for me anyway but no, even getting a mortgage I feel like I’m pretending.
“I’m like ‘I’m wearing mammy’s high heel’s’ massively pretending but no not yet,” she joked.
“I’m all thinking about flats and jobs, I’ll give it a wee while more before I [think about it]. I’m not ready to surrender my youth.”
Speaking to Goss.ie, Charlene admitted she’s hoping to set up home in London so she can be closer to her family – leaving her American beau in the states so she can have the best of both worlds.

“Based in New York but living out of four suitcases in four different places at the minute,” she explained.
“Still based in New York but my 2016 is to buy a flat in London so that’s the plan. So I might comeback, I’m finding it for family, a bit far away.
“I’d like a foot either side if I can be greedy but I’d like to buy in London. I know it better, I’ve been there way longer, everything’s there, my friends are there so it makes sense,” she smiled.
“I don’t know. I’m keeping him there so I can have my New York base but he’s here at the minute for Ripper Street.”
