Irish tanning queen Marissa Carter receives James Joyce award

She’s one of Ireland’s leading female entrepreneurs, and now Marissa Carter has become the recipient of the prestigious James Joyce award.

Given by the University College of Dublin (UCD), the James Joyce Award, is an award given by the Literary and Historical Society to people who have achieved outstanding success in their given field.

Marissa, who created successful tanning company Cocoa Brown Tan, received her special award today, joining the likes of Martin Freeman,
Russell Brand, Will Ferrell, Seamus Heaney and Emeli Sandé who have all received the award.

Taking to Twitter, Marissa, who is also nominated for Girl Boss of The Year at The Gossies 2016 next week, said she was so honoured.
