RTE legend Anne Doyle has told how she shed a tear after walking Aengus Mac Grianna down the aisle.
The former TV newsreader, 62, said it was a “wonderful honour” to step into the role for her Montrose friend as he wed Terry Gill.
“It was a wonderful honour for me to play a part in the ceremony and of course I shed a tear or two,” she told The Star.
“I had my waterproof mascara on because I knew it would be an emotional occasion for me and for many others.

“But it was a very joyous occasion because there’s something rare and wonderful about two people making a commitment to each other for the rest of their lives.”
She was accompanied to the ceremony in Co Meath by partner Dan McGrattan.
