Dancing With The Stars host Jennifer Zamparelli had to spend her 40th birthday in her back garden, after her celebratory trip to Paris was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The mum-of-two was looking forward to her first holiday away from the kids with her husband Lau, but the presenter ended up swapping Paris for a pool party with her two children Enzo, 2, and Florence, 5.
Speaking to the Irish Independent on Thursday, Jen said: “This is the first time ever in my life that I’m actually OK with my birthday and this happens.”
She continued: “I had a trip to Paris planned just with Lau, our first time ever away from the kids. And do you know what? I don’t mind in the slightest.”
“I’m safe, my family are safe and healthy, and I’m going to enjoy a big fat gin and tonic in my garden in the sun today.”
“We have a blow-up pool, I’m going to get my bikini on and have a BBQ.”
Many of her famous friends took to social media to wish her a happy birthday – as Julian Benson, Maia Dunphy and Darren Kennedy.
Amy Huberman wrote: “Happy Birthday! ps I’d fling the bag of ???? out the window as a pressie but it’s beyond the 2km soz xx”
Responding, Jennifer admitted that 40 isn’t so bad as she had “2 full days of eating cake.”
