The stars of RTE’s new reality show have revealed that it isn’t strictly a fly on the wall show – as so much footage can’t be used.
The six women who signed up for Connected were told by producers to bring handheld cameras with them everywhere for six months.
But Nicole McQuillan admitted that lots of what she filmed – and some of the best parts – were canned because “of issues with permission.”

She said: “It was really hard at times, because we had to bring the camera everywhere with us. Ieven brought it on holiday to Ibiza with my mam.
“People would always be wondering what I was doing carrying around this small handheld camera
“There were times when it was really frustrating as well because I’d film loads of footage on a great night out and wouldn’t be able to use it because of issues with permission.”

Meanwhile Nicole, 21, has told how her boyfriend Noel is being teased since she revealed their relationship details.
“We’re both recognised a bit more now that the show has aired. People come up to me all the time saying that I look like the girl from the telly,” she told the Herald.
“And Noel’s mates make fun of him as well. They often say things to him like ‘Your girl- friend made you steak and chips for dinner and you didn’t even go home’ but he takes it all in his stride.”
