The Bord Gais was bombarded with Irish celebrities for the official opening on of Matilda The Musical.
Guests on the night included film director Jim Sheridan, comedian Deirdre Kane, Aoibhin Garrihy, Ciara Doherty, Triona McCarthy and son Max.
Also in attendance were Laura Woods and her son Alex Arigho, Alan Hughes and Karl Broderick, Today Fm’s Dave Moore, Brendan O Connor, Rebecca Storm and Pauline McLynn.
Winner of 85 international awards, including 16 for Best Musical, the Royal Shakespeare Company’s touring production of Matilda The Musical will undoubtedly be one of the biggest theatrical events of 2018.
This must see musical is based off the book by Dennis Kelly and features original songs by Tim Minchin.
It is directed by Matthew Warchus.

Matilda The Musical has been seen by more than 6.5 million people worldwide.
Having swept the board at the 2012 Olivier Awards, with a record-breaking seven awards, and winning four Tony Awards and a Tony Honor for Excellence in the Theater for the four girls sharing the title role on Broadway, Matilda The Musical has now played in 51 cities worldwide and continues to delight audiences in London, Australia and on tour around North America.
Matilda The Musical will play at Bord Gáis Energy Theatre until April 28th 2018.
