Daithi O'Se is 'distraught' at being snubbed to host RTE's New Year's Eve show

Daithi O’Se is reported to be “distraught” at being snubbed to host the New Year’s Eve show by RTE.

Last week, it was revealed that Paddy McKenna and Kathryn Thomas will be taking over the countdown to 2015 this year.

It comes after Daithi, Sinead Kennedy and Will Leahy hosted the show – broadcast from a studio at College Green in Dublin – last year.

But sources told the Sunday World that Daithi feels snubbed and had expected to get called to host the show.

It has emerged that Nicky Byrne was the first choice to take on the show, but told RTE he was too “busy” that night.

He will soon be presenting a new-look primetime gameshow on Saturday night, which will replace Winning Streak.

Already, Miriam O’Callaghan has said she will never host the New Year’s show again.
