Sting and Shaggy have made an ‘island-influenced’ album together

This could be the most random musical coupling EVER

Sting and Shaggy have teamed up to release of an “island-influenced” collaborative album.

The album is titled ’44/876′, and is set for release on April 20.

NME has reported that according to a press release, the pair decided to record an album together after they “got together to jam and write music that reflects their mutual love of Jamaica, its music, people and culture”.

Sting and Shaggy shared their first single ‘Don’t Make Me Wait’ on all streaming platforms today.

Apparently, the pair were introduced by Martin Kierszenbaum, Sting’s manager and a former A&R executive for Shaggy.

“The most important thing to me in any kind of music is surprise,” Sting told Rolling Stone.

“And everybody is surprised by this collaboration – by what they’re hearing. We’re surprising.”

On their new single ‘Don’t Make Me Wait’, Shaggy said, “Doesn’t that just sound like something that hundreds of women would get pregnant to?”
