Saoirse Ronan has revealed she is planning to move to New York.

The Carlow actress, who has been living in London for the past year, has admitted she has always dreamed of making the move to the big apple.

Saoirse, 20, has said she loves the US and she’s hoping to live in New York soon.

“I think with LA in particular there is a lot of LA bashing a lot of people say ‘Oh I hate LA it’s so fake and so pretentious.’

“But I am completely and utterly in love with New York and always have been and probably always will be.

“I would love to live there one day, and that’s kind of hopefully something that would be in the near future for me.

“It’s always been inevitable that I would spend a lot of time there,” she revealed.

The Lovely Bones star admitted that she has spent most of her life living out of a suitcase and explained how she stays grounded in such a hectic lifestyle.

“Since I was 10 I’ve been travelling a lot and I’ve lived out of a suitcase and lived in different places and been exposed to different cultures. It’s amazing, it’s a great education,” she explained.

New film: Saoirse is promoting Brooklyn at Sundance

“I love my Irish tea, it has to be Barry’s tea. Talking to my mam three times a day always reminds me of home and keeps me sane.  Sometimes it’s hard to be away from home but I’m very used to it.

“I always try to make myself a Sunday dinner when I’m away. Because Mam, whenever she came away with me, would always make Sunday dinner.

“We’d always have a roast chicken on a Sunday with all our roast vegetables and spuds. I still try and do that now,” she said.
