Calling all aspiring actors.
Producers for new Irish movie A Date For Mad Mary are in Drogheda today looking to cast roles in the film.
The highly anticipated feature film is based on the original play 10 Dates With Mad Mary, in which Yasmine Akram played the lead role.
The Drogheda native, who recently rose to fame thanks to a role on BBC drama Sherlock, played the lead role in 2010.
The film, directed by Darren Thornton, follows Mary McArdle who returns home after being in prison for assault.
On returning home Mary is asked to be maid of honour for her friend’s wedding, but is told she can’t bring a plus one because she could never bag a date.
The film sees Mary join online dating to search for the perfect man.
Casting takes place in Drogheda’s Barlow House from 12PM – 4PM.
