Kanye West has released a public apology, after he was caught on his phone at the opening night of The Cher Show in NYC, which tells the story of the early life and career of Cher.

The rapper attended the show with his wife Kim Kardashian, but unfortunately cast member Jarrod Spector, who plays Sonny Bono in the show, spotted him on the phone during their performance.

Clearly annoyed, Jarrod tweeted, “Hey @kanyewest so cool that you’re here at @TheCherShow! If you look up from your cell phone you’ll see we’re doing a show up here. It’s opening night. Kind of a big deal for us. Thanks so much.”

Kanye quickly responded by tweeting, “The dynamics of Cher and Sonny’s relationship made Kim and I grab each other’s hand and sing ‘I got you babe’. Please pardon my lack of etiquette.”

“We have so much appreciation for the energy you guys put into making this master piece.”

Meanwhile, a source told TMZ  that Kanye simply loved the production, and was taking notes on his phone.

The source also claimed that Kim and Kanye were scheduled to leave during the intermission, but they loved the show so much that they pushed their flight back so they could catch the end.

It’s no secret that Kanye’s wife Kim is a huge fan of Cher, as the reality star recently met the legendary singer during an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
