Christina Applegate has revealed her heartbreaking health update following her Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis.
The award-winning actress was diagnosed with MS in Summer 2021 while in the middle of filming the final season of Netflix’s Dead to Me.
Her diagnosis halted production for several months as the 50-year-old sought treatment.
The actress opened up about her latest battle while on her podcast, MeSsy, which she co-hosts alongside fellow actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler.
The 52-year-old prefaced the conversation with an apology if the candidness makes the listeners “queasy.”
Christina revealed that she contracted COVID-19 for the first time after someone close to her “dropped the ball” and went to a bowling alley where they picked up the virus.
The actress who currently suffers from MS admitted that both she and her caretaker got sick as a result.
Christina also confessed that aside from symptoms of long covid such as a chest infection and soaring heart rates, she also suffered from diarrhoea.
The 52-year-old revealed that contracting the virus resulted in her “p*ssing out my a** for a few days.”
“To the point where I couldn’t … I was so dizzy. I was so sick. I couldn’t eat,” she continued.
“I couldn’t anything. And finally I had to do one of those samples — [a stool test], which is fun, and that’s sarcasm, as you know — because you poop into a receptacle and then you have to scoop your own poop into vials.”
“And it was so gross I started vomiting while doing this. Anywho, [test] came back [and] I had something called sapovirus.”
“It is when you ingest the fecal matter of someone else from your food. Someone else’s poop went into my mouth and I ate it.”
Christina revealed it’s been almost three weeks of being sick from this virus and she was able to trace it back to takeout salad from a restaurant she’s frequented for 15 years.
“Anyway that’s my fun story,” she quipped. “It’s been real fun.”
