Ray D'Arcy and Zig & Zag reuniting?

Ray D’Arcy has opened up about a possible reunion with his Den co-hosts Zig & Zag.

The Radio One presenter will be starting his new chat show on Saturday night and with the 30th anniversary of the children’s show coming up, we may be in for a surprise.

“A lot of people sitting in on Saturday nights now, with their kids in bed, actually grew up with The Den so it might just work, we might get the old gang back together again and do something on the new show to mark the occasion,” he told TV Now.

The Kildare native presented the popular children’s programme for eight years and reminisces on his first day with the colourful puppets.

I remember when I started on The Den, the first day I sat with my feet up on the chair, hugging my knees and I thought I was so cool, I was there going, ‘That looks really relaxed,” he added.

The 51-year-old TV personality will be taking on The Late Late Show but doesn’t expect to be competing with them for ratings.

“The Late Late Show is the oldest chat show in the world, people have grown up with it.

“It’s hard to compete against that heritage, we have zilch heritage,” he explained.

The Saturday Night Show with Ray D’Arcy kicks off this Saturday September 26th.
