Bloggers and Mental Health Advocates Coming Together For MiMind 2016

With mental health issues coming more and more to the forefront in Ireland – the upcoming MiMind 2016 event is extremely important.

Goss.ie are proud to be sponsoring the End of Summer Session on the 9th September, taking place in Opium, Dublin from 7pm-11pm,a limited amount of tickets have been released, to register click HERE.

The award winning event organized by Aoife Keane, owner of Online Jewellery Boutique ‘Covet Mimi’, brings together the Irish blogging community to raise awareness for Mental Health. With over 400 bloggers and media influencers from across Ireland already registered it shows just how many people want to get involved and get behind such an important issue!

By gathering the Irish Blogging Community together at this free event – #MiMind2016, Aoife and her team aim to inspire them to use the power they each have through social media to help break the stigma attached to Mental Health.

Our generation, the millennial’s, are the first values driven generation. Blogging is a weapon, an extremely positive one that we can use to share those values and Aoife hopes events like #MiMind2016 will only help shine the light brighter on Mental Health and get people talking!

The team have gathered together some amazing speakers to share their experiences and help show their followers its okay not be be okay, check out the line up:

Sarah McD

Sarah McD - Sarahs Secrets blog - MiMind2016

Sarah is 24 years old and works full time as a Primary School Teacher. She is also a part-time Fashion, Beauty & Lifestyle Blogger.

In the past Sarah has gathered experience working as a model; through appearing on Ireland AM, placing as a runner up in Miss Universe Ireland, being crowned as Kildare Derby Queen and a Kildare Rose Finalist, as well as walking in various fashion shows, many to raise money for local charities and organisations.

She began her blog ‘Sarah’s Secrets’ during the summer of 2015. On her blog, Sarah reveals her style and beauty secrets including everyday affordable outfits and make up tips & tricks.

She has a passion for fashion, style and all things sparkly! She is determined to love a lot and live life to the fullest!

 

Doug Leddin

Many people will know Doug however from his incredible YouTube video from April of this year.

Doug bravely shared a video about his battle with depression, and has been since the age of 15.

Doug has decided to speak out about his depression in the hope it will help others who are suffering.

Another key figure in the Irish mental health community is Bare Knuckling BiPolar founder Eanna Walsh.

The Dubliner has been very open with his battle with mental illness and is trying to change the stigma surrounding it.

From finding wise to look after yourself to using fitness as a tool to feel better, Eanna has lots to talk about.

Our very own Miss Goss.ie will also be talking on the night.

Colleen is a critically acclaimed singer who works both nationally and internationally, and has sung with artists such as The Script, The Coronas, Imelda May, The Lumineers, and Ryan O Shaughnessy but to name a few.

She is no stranger to Dublin’s jazz scene, including notable performances on RTE’s The Late Late Show and Music Inc as well as gigs abroad.

Also working as a model, Colleen has shot both nationally and internationally for campaigns such as Ecco, Catrice Cosmetics, Essence Cosmetics, KISS Magazine, Irish Independent, Confetti Magazine, and is a regular to our screens on TV3’s Xpose.

Colleen is currently in the Miss Ireland finals this September 23rd representing Goss.ie.

Jessica Banaghan

Jessica is 23 & has recently finished Event Management in DIT. She began her fashion & lifestyle blog, Chaos wearing Lipgloss in August 2013 ( some of you may know her as Selfie Girl).

Jessica has been featured on Xpose as part of a Trend Tackler segment last year. She was nominated as a finalist in the Best Lifestyle blog in Blog Awards 2015, with one of her most popular blogging areas being Lifestyle, in particular The Heartbreak Series – a series of blog posts discussing heartbreak, relationships and more.

Her presence across social media has grown from strength to strength and also gained her a spot on our recent Top 100 Irish Influencer list and is always open and honest

Amanda Moroney and Daniel Brack

Fitness couple Amanda Moroney and Daniel Brack have a huge social media following.

The couple better known as recalibratedbodies on Instagram, will be talking about their rough year, after Daniel lost his brother and the struggles of running a business.

They will be speaking about the benefits of exercise and mental health issues.

Last but not least Irish boxer Darren O’Neill will be talking to guests about his experience with mental health issues.
