Love Island’s Jess Gale responds to speculation she split from Callum Jones ‘because of his ex Molly Smith’

Love Island’s Jess Gale has broken her silence on her split from ex Callum Jones.

The pair met on this year’s Love Island: All-Stars, coming second behind Molly Smith and Tom Clare – however, they called it quits just five weeks after leaving the villa.

The 24-year-old model admitted that she was “very happy to draw the line” on their romance, hinting that their split was not amicable.

Last month, it was reported the pair got into a furious row at Molly Smith’s Boohoo launch, and were seen leaving the party separately.

Jess has now revealed to the MailOnline: “Me and Callum are not speaking anymore. I’ve not said anything, well I haven’t spoke to him in ages actually.”

“I found out something prior to the event which I addressed [with him] and obviously it was a very public event, with a lot of people there so things got out.”

“So we spoke at the event but the breakup wasn’t because his behaviour at the event,” she noted.

The model continued: “It wasn’t a blazing row it was just a conversation. And then from then onwards we decided we aren’t going to speak anymore.”

“Well I decided [to break-up] because there was no way that could have happened after that. After that we spoke a little bit but it’s definitely not a thing anymore. I am very happy to just draw the line with that anymore.”

“In the villa obviously it was really good and then we tried to make it work on the outside but it is really different,” she admitted.

“It wasn’t anything to do with Molly [Smith] as much as anyone would like to speculate. It was just, yeah like, I was a bit shocked, I wasn’t expecting it.”

“I’m just going to focus on myself from now on,” she added.

During their time on the show, many fans hoped that Callum would rekindle his relationship with his ex Molly.

However, the pair decided to remain friends, and Molly went on to win the show with Tom.

Jess previously revealed how surprised she was when she learned the public wanted the two exes to reunite.

She told Digital Spy: “I was really shocked by the whole Molly and Callum speculation, just because it wasn’t really like that in the villa, and I don’t think that is a thing.”

“I was shocked, and we heard a little bit about it in the villa – like we had calls and stuff – and I thought there was going to be a little bit [of an external reaction].”

She continued: “When we came out, I saw Molly and Callum fan accounts, all of this. I was like, ‘Wow, this is crazy.'”

“I did definitely not expect that at all,” she added.

Molly and Callum dated for three years, after meeting on the winter version of Love Island in 2020.

They called it quits last summer, just six months before they both appeared on the All Stars series.
