Selena Gomez broke down in tears last night, as she accepted her award for Woman Of The Year at the Billboard Women In Music Awards.
The newly-blonde singer dedicated the award to her best friend Francia Raisa, who donated her kidney to Selena earlier this year after she fell seriously ill due to her ongoing battle with lupus.
Francia joined Selena on stage when she accepted the award, and Selena told the crowd through tears, “I think Francia should be getting this award. She saved my life… I feel incredibly lucky.”
“Honestly, I couldn’t be more grateful for the position that I’ve been given in my career from 7 to 14 to now.”
“I feel like for me, with my music, I’ve been able to illustrate the things that I want. And I’m reminded by a team of people who believe in me even when I don’t myself, and I couldn’t be more luckier,” she added.
As she walked the red carpet earlier in the evening, Selena spoke to Billboard about receiving the honour.
“Honestly, I don’t know if I feel like I deserve it sometimes but I am so honored to be part of an industry where there is real movement for women. I think it’s important, I couldn’t be more thrilled.”

The star recently reunited with her former flame Justin Bieber, and when asked about Justin’s influence on her life, she said, “Truly actually cares….It’s not really my concern anymore.”
“My family is great. My health is great. I love deeply and I think that’s just who I am. I’m not really ashamed,” she added.
