In the video, Donald Glover distracts us from the chaos in the background by dancing, implying that we’re all too distracted by pop culture to focus on the things in society that actually need our attention. The irony of that in relation to these redubbed videos is not lost on this writer…
Alas, this Carly Rae Jepsen version of the video may make you shed a tear.

Celebrities lauded Donald Glover’s track when it dropped last week and while Carly Rae Jepson didn’t weigh in on the new song she has been supporting March For Our Lives which calls for stricter gun control, so she may well agree with Childish Gambino’s sentiment in the video.
If you’re not a Carly fan, this version to the tune of Billy Ocean’s ‘Get Outta My Dreams’ might be more your thing.
