Kathryn Thomas: 'I didn't give a s*** how I looked on TV'

RTE presenter Kathryn Thomas has revealed looking good for the cameras was never a priority when she started out in TV.

The Voice of Ireland host admits that getting fit for the sake of cameras wasn’t on her list of priorities when she became a TV host.

“When I look back now, I don’t give a s**t how I looked. I was just so happy and privileged to be travelling as part of my work.

“It’s only four or five years down the line that you catch a picture of yourself in an ill-fitting flowery dress and you think ‘oh’.

“But I’m more confident now than I was six or seven years ago. It’s like, ‘this is it, I have to work at it’,”she frankly admitted.

The Operation Transformation star has recently started a new business venture, Pure Results. A boot camp that focuses on diet and excercise.

Pure Results is a new three week diet and training experience designed by Kathryn and her team of fitness and nutrition experts

Describing it as “a summer camp for adults where you’ll get your ass kicked”, the Carlow star reveals what to expect at her week long bootcamp.

“There’s about eight to 10 hours of exercise a day, including three to four hours of intense classes like boxing, circuits, cardio, TRX or aerobics.

“On the food front, it will be very similar to Spain [a bootcamp], which means no wheat, no diary, no sugar, no alcohol, no caffeine…no craic,” she told the Sunday World.
