After Zara shared a trailer for the new series on TikTok, she was inundated with comments asking how she landed the hosting job.

One user commented: “This is so random. How did Zara get this job?”

Zara responded to the backlash, stating: “With all due respect; I’ve been making documentaries for almost 5 years now! There’s a bunch of them on BBC iPlayer if you just type in my name. Most of them focus on issues around women and social media.”

Zara’s previous BBC documentaries covered topics like revenge porn and disordered eating.

‘The Idaho Murders; Trial by TikTok’ is already receiving rave reviews online, with The Telegraph giving it four stars.

The show is said to reveal the true dangers of this generations true crime obsession.

Many other TikTok users supported Zara, including Love Island’s Chloe Burrows who commented “slay” and other users who stated “I’m so excited to watch this!! Zara’s documentaries are genuinely the best!!!”
