A TOWIE star was rushed to hospital yesterday after contracting malaria, just three days after travelling to Ghana in Africa.

He posted a few hours later, reassuring fans and said: “Sorry to panic everyone. I perhaps should think before posting something so worrying. Me and my Sagittarius need for attention.”

“I am very sick but I’m in good hands and I am told I will have a very speedy recovery. Thankfully we caught it very early. I’ll be back to the village for @vasmorganfoundation asap!”

The HSE website states: “Malaria is a serious tropical disease spread by mosquitoes. If it is not diagnosed and treated promptly, it can be fatal.”

Symptoms include a high temperature, sweats and chills, muscle pains, vomiting, headaches and feeling confused.

The 35-year-old, appeared on TOWIE sporadically for four years and also starred in Celebs Go Dating in 2018.

Vas, 35, lashed out at ITV2 for his negative experience on TOWIE, blaming bosses for practising, “system racism,” and failing to support him throughout his personal struggles with mental health and addiction issues.

The reality star, ditched tv and focused his attention on other projects, such as launching the initiative I Am Enough on Go Fund Me.

He revealed that in under 12 hours he raised more than £20,000, to give members of black communities better access to mental health services.
