The Royal Family break their silence as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle confirm tell-all interview

Buckingham Palace have released a statement following the news of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s tell-all interview.

On Monday, CBS announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would be joining Oprah Winfrey for an “intimate” interview airing next month.

They revealed Meghan would be discussing “everything from stepping into life as a Royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure”.

Harry will then join his wife as they speak about “their move to the United States and their future hopes and dreams for their expanding family”.

The interview is set to air on Sunday, March 7, and it will be the couple’s first interview since quitting their roles as senior royals last year.

In a statement, Buckingham Palace said: “The Duke and Duchess are no longer working members of the Royal Family and therefore any decisions they take with regard to media commitments are matters for them.”

“As non-working members of the Royal Family they are under no obligation to inform the Royal Household of such plans.”

On Sunday, Meghan and Harry announced they are expecting their second child.

The couple’s reps confirmed the news alongside a stunning black-and-white photo of Harry smiling down at his pregnant wife.

A spokesperson said: “We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.”

The royal couple welcomed their first son Archie in May 2019, after tying the knot the year prior.
