Roman Kemp has landed an exciting gig as the host of BBC One’s new quiz show The Finish Line.
Sharing the news via Instagram on Friday, the Capital FM DJ wrote: “I’ve got my own quiz show 🤯.”
“Get ready for The Finish Line on BBC One coming later this year!”
According to The UK Sun, Roman will host the quiz show alongside TV personality Sarah Greene.
A source told the publication: “Roman is really excited to be on board with The Finish Line.”
“It’s a new show in a prime spot in the schedule, so it has the potential to be huge. Show bosses believe pairing Roman with Sarah is a masterstroke, as it’s not TV’s usual kind of combo.”
The Finish Line will see contestants compete in a quiz-fuelled race around a track; the more correct answers they give, the further they will progress.
The winner will be awarded a huge cash prize.
Roman told the publication: “I’m a huge fan of quiz shows and with this being my first as host, I really can’t wait to get stuck in.”
“I love that it’s a brand new format but based on an iconic horse-racing fairground game. It’s set to be challenging and unpredictable — we know viewers will be hooked.”
Meanwhile Sarah said: “This will be fantastic fun. It’s all about high-energy, high-drama racing and quickfire questions, and I’ll be bringing my A-game to ensure that Roman and the contestants are kept on the straight and narrow.”
