Katie Price has caused outrage once again, as she tried to sell her two cats on Instagram.
The reality TV star attempted to sell her family pets over social media for thousands of pounds, but Katie was forced to delete her post after receiving backlash from fans.
According to Mirror Online, the post included a picture of her hairless sphynx cats, Hagrid and Dobbie.
Alongside the picture, Katie wrote, “Hey unfortunately I’m having to sell my cats and find good home £1300 each they are boys and been spade [sic]. Our dogs just don’t like them.”
The former glamour model also asked for “serious enquiries” to be sent to her assistant’s email address, before the Instagram post was swiftly removed.
Speaking to Mirror Online, Cats Protection Behaviour Manager Nicky Trevorrow warned Katie about selling pets online.
“There’s no guarantee that your beloved pet will go to a good home. Likewise, buying pets from private sellers online is not ideal either as you may not get a healthy and happy animal,” he said.
“If you’re looking to adopt or rehome a pet, we recommend doing so via an animal welfare charity such as Cats Protection. We work hard to match the right cat to the right home, increasing the chances of a successful adoption.
“All our cats are health checked, neutered if appropriate, given flea and worm treatment and vaccinated and you’ll also receive a free period of pet insurance.
“We understand that animals don’t always get on but, before giving up your pet, we’d recommend contacting a qualified behaviourist to see if there is anything that can be done to resolve the issue before going down the rehoming route.”
