Holly Willoughby ‘won’t be offered big BBC deal’ following shock This Morning departure

Holly Willoughby reportedly won’t be offered a big BBC deal, following her shock departure from This Morning.

On Tuesday evening, Holly announced her shock departure from This Morning after 14 years, after details of an alleged plot to kidnap and murder her were revealed.

In a statement, shared via Instagram, the TV personality wrote: “I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning.”

“To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so so much. This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together.”

“Thank you to everyone at ITV for being supportive. To every guest who has sat on our sofa, thank you.”

“Most of all, thank you to the wonderful viewers. You’ve been so loyal, so supportive and the very best company every day,” she continued.

“Richard and Judy said ‘we only look after this show, it will always belong to the viewers.’”

“It’s been an honour to just be part of it’s story and I know this story has many chapters left to go. Sadly, however, I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family. I will miss you all so much,” she added, before signing off with, “Holly.”

According to The UK Sun, BBC executives had been “quietly wooing” Holly for a year before her This Morning exit.

However, insider have claimed the approached is at a standstill following a difficult few months for the TV personality.

A source told the publication: “Holly isn’t going to be signed up on an exclusive deal for the BBC — or to be the face of any of their new shows — at this moment in time.”

“Their golden handcuffs deals are few and far between and Holly was being lined up to become a major player for them.”

“She was great on Freeze The Fear with Wim Hof and got down to the final two to host BBC’s reboot of Survivor.”

“But after seeing everything that has unfolded over the past five months, the BBC want to give her some breathing space before making any offers.”

“The ITV internal report into This Morning has still not been published either and the impact that could have also needs to be taken into consideration,” the insider continued.
