Harry Styles accused of RIPPING OFF 70s rock band

Harry Styles has been accused of ripping off 70s rock band Badfinger in his new solo song Ever Since New York.

The song from Harry’s upcoming solo album features a guitar riff which some music fans believe is almost identical to the one used in Badfinger’s 1971 track Baby Blue, which was used in the final ever scene of Breaking Bad back in 2013.

An industry insider told The Sun, “This is the last thing Harry needed. His solo launch hasn’t quite gone to plan and this is another distraction. He takes real pride in his new material and to be accused of nicking a riff will really hurt.”

The former 1D star performed the track, which people believe is about his ex Taylor Swift, on Saturday Night Live last week, and people were quick to point out the similarities between the two songs.

Peter Kirkpatrick tweeted, “I wonder if Harry Styles has ever heard Badfinger’s Baby Blue, and if he will hear from their lawyer.”

Meanwhilte, Ross Maxwell wrote, “So did Harry Styles get permission from Badfinger to use the Baby Blue riff for that song?” and Adult Alternative added, “So . . . did Harry Styles pre-pay Badfinger for this song? This episode is a tribute to lack of talent all round.”

Hansy_Volk also furiously tweeted, “F***Harry Styles. Rip-off artist. That riff is NOTE FOR NOTE lifted from Baby Blue by Badfinger. Unbelievable. I’m far too upset about Harry Styles stealing the Baby Blue riff. This feels so personal. Is he going to rip off some 10cc or T. REX next?”
