Liberty Poole has revealed Tyrique Hyde slid into her DMs before his stint on Love Island.
The former Nandos waitress, who shot to fame after appearing on the dating show in 2021, revealed she ghosted the semi-pro footballer because she was “too busy” for a boy at the time.
Liberty made the confession during her appearance on the latest episode of Vicky Pattison’s The Secret To podcast, ahead of the Love Island final on Monday.
When asked who she wanted to with the series, she replied: “Ty and Ella [Thomas] because I feel like we’ve seen the whole beginning to end with them. We’ve seen the turmoil, they’ve given us the drama, they’ve given us the love story without it being too soppy.”
Vicky then asked: “Will there be a bit of jealousy there, Lib, because you and Tyrique had a bit of a thing, didn’t you?”
Liberty started laughing, and said: “I wouldn’t call it a thing. I would call it a bit of a one-night flirt and then a blank DM.”
Vicky asked: “Who blanked who?” and Liberty explained:Â “Listen, I was a very busy girl. I was doing training for Dancing on Ice [which she appeared on in 2022].”
“I was busy. I was so run down. I was always doing something – you know how busy it is when you get out of the villa – and it was just a bit mental, so I just didn’t have time for a boy. A boy was the last thing on my mind.”
She then said Tyrique “is a very good-looking specimen of a boy”, that his now-girlfriend Ella is “beautiful”, and that the pair are “well-matched”.
