X Factor hopeful Janet Grogan has admitted she was close to giving up her music dream – until she won a ticket to bootcamp.
The Tallaght singer soared through to bootcamp after getting four yeses following her smashing performance of U2’s I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.
But the 26-year-old revealed Simon Cowell and the other judges praise gave her a much needed boost – after she had “lost faith” in the music industry.
“To be honest before my first audition I completely lost faith in myself and I was considering going back to college,” she told the Star.
“I got such a great reaction that I thought, ‘Yes! – this is what I’m supposed to do’.
“My mum and dad are really proud of me, but I want to make them even prouder.”
However she was left disappointed when it didn’t turn out to be the big break she expected.
