The results cover the last three years

The Late Late Show was the most complained about TV/radio programme in Ireland for the last three years.

According to the Irish Sun, the popular chat show received 30 formal complaints from 2017 – 2019, but none of them were upheld.

In total, the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) received a grand total of 253 official complaints about Irish TV and radio shows between 2017 and 2019.

An RTÉ spokesperson said: “None of the complaints made against The Late Late Show were upheld. This in our view upholds the consistently high standards set by the programme.”

Nearly half of the complaints about The Late Late Show related to a single episode, which aired in January 2017.

It featured a controversial appearance by Blindboy, who made a joke comparing communion wafer to “haunted bread”.

The episode sparked 14 complaints, two of which were resolved before being considered by the BAI.

The remainder were all rejected.
