Pat Kenny vows he'll NEVER host Christmas Toy Show for UTV Ireland

Former Late Late Show host Pat Kenny has vowed he’ll never present a Christmas Toy Show for UTV Ireland.

The TV world expects the upstart station to look at hosting their own version of the show – after a successful battle between TV3 and RTE.

More than 400,000 tuned in to see Brian McFadden and Karen Koster on TV3, but despite being UTV Ireland’s big new star he will refuse to put on a Christmas jumper again.

“I won’t be doing it and that’s for sure,” he told the Irish Independent.

“When you’ve done 10 ‘Late Late Toy Shows’ you reach a point where you think: ‘There are only so many Batman outfits I can go through’.

“And I’m not sure I could rival Ryan in the song and dance department.”

Meanwhile, Pat has also spoken out about Ray D’Arcy’s decision to go back to RTE – admitting he found his choice of phrase, about heading “home”, to be odd.

He said: “I was surprised to hear him refer to it as going home. It’s like a lad who comes from Kimmage and lives in Foxrock and decides to go back to Kimmage after 14 years.

“And his mammy is no longer living there but he describes it as ‘going home’. Just bizarre. That was the odd thing about it.”

Pat will be back on our screens at 8.30pm on New Year’s Day as part of UTV Ireland’s launch night for an one-hour special called Out With The Old, In With The U.
