Eric Lalor has revealed his new Fair City role could make him the most hated man in Ireland.
The Dubliner has been cast as hotel manager Cathal and has admitted he’s not a nice guy.
“He is a nasty piece of work and that’s what attracted me to him because he is so much fun.

“He runs the Ballantyne lodge hotel in Fair City – he is the manager and he is a bully. He has a very dark side to him,” he told the Irish Mirror.
“There is a character in Fair City called Flynn and he is played by Don Baker – he comes in and out of it but what will transpire over the next couple of weeks is I am his son.
“That’s why I’m a bully. I know he is in the background and will protect me.

“It’s going to build up into a pretty mental storyline – one of the girls said it’s going to be massive.
“But I have no doubt I will become probably one of the most hated men in Ireland and that’s a cross I’m going to have to bear,” he added.
