Love Island USA dropping next week from a COVID-secure ‘bubble’ in Las Vegas hotel

Love Island USA is coming to our screens next week, and will be shot from a COVID-secure “bubble” in a Las Vegas hotel.

The US version of the hit dating show will be hosted by Arielle Vandenberg and narrated by Matthew Hoffman, as contestants try to find love and win a $100k cash prize.

This year’s show will be filmed in a stunning villa on top of Vegas’ Caesars Entertainment’s boutique hotel – The Cromwell.

Paul Mortimer, ITV’s Head of Digital Channels and Acquisitions said: “We’re thrilled that ITV2 can bring the latest US version of Love Island to viewers this year.”

“Las Vegas may seem like an odd destination for the show but the canny producers have beaten Covid with a show that adheres to all production protocols and that could well be sensational.”

“Certainly the ‘villa’ is impressive and the cast diverse and amazing. We believe Love Island fans will embrace this Sin City twist, my bet is the series will be another big hit.”

Making up the girls entering the villa are: Cely Vazquez, 24, Justine Ndiba, 27, Moira Tumas, 28, Kaitlynn Anderson, 27, and Mackenzie Dipman, 24.

The Love Island beauties will be joined by six boys – Tre Forte, 25, Carrington Rodriguez, 22, Jeremiah White, 22, James McCool, 27, Connor Trott, 23 and Johnny Middlebrooks, 22.

To ensure the health and safety of the Islanders during the COVID pandemic,  there will be regular testing throughout the season as well as daily screenings for symptoms.

In addition, staff and crew are required to wear PPE and work in their own pods to ensure proper social distancing – with ongoing cleaning and disinfecting also being implied.

“The health and safety of everyone involved in Love Island is the highest priority,” executive producers Jessica Castro and Ben Thursby-Palmer told TV Guide.

“We’ve done everything we can to make sure the Islanders are safe and have the best summer of their lives and viewers can have a great summer living through them.”

‎Zac Mirabelli and Elizabeth Weber won the first season of the US version of the show last year, which was shot in Fiji.

The new season will be broadcast on ITV2 from September 7th.
