Good news for fans of The Gentlemen series on Netflix

Netflix is reportedly in talks with Guy Ritchie for a second season of his hit gangster drama The Gentlemen.

The series, which stars Theo James and Kaya Scodelario, hit the streaming service last month following much-anticipation.

The programme has quickly become one of Netflix’s biggest hits of the year, with over 44 million views in four weeks.

Bosses are now hoping the film director can reunite the star-studded cast for another season – including Theo, Kaya, Ray Winstone, Daniel Ings and Vinnie Jones.

A TV insider told The Sun: “It’s going to be quite a challenge getting the same actors back together, but Netflix chiefs are keen for a sequel.

“Another hurdle will be securing Guy for the series as he already has several movie projects in the pipeline this year.

“But the success of series one has already convinced them there’s huge potential for a follow-up.”

The series, based on Guy Ritchie’s 2019 film of the same name, has been widely praised on social media since its release.

The Gentlemen follows Eddie Horniman (Theo James), a dashing aristocrat who unexpectedly inherit his father’s sizeable country estate – only to discover it’s part of a cannabis empire.

Moreover, a host of unsavoury characters from Britain’s criminal underworld want a piece of the operation.

Determined to extricate his family from their clutches, Eddie tries to play the gangsters at their own game.

However, as he gets sucked into the world of criminality, he begins to find a taste for it.

Embroiled in London’s dark underworld, Eddie attempts to thrive and survive with the help of career criminal Bobby Glass (Ray Winstone), and his daughter Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario).
