Emmerdale favourite Bob Hope, played by Tony Audenshaw, has revealed he would love to have singer Daniel O’Donnell appear on the British soap.

Tony’s character runs a cafe in the long running UTV show and the soap veteran admitted to Goss.ie, he would love to share a cuppa with the Donegal man.

“You could have a nice off and have Daniel O’Donnell come in, he’s the nicest – Bob and Daniel,” he admitted.

Revealing that having Daniel on “would be nice”, Tony even joked about their possible dialogue whilst trying to mimic Daniel’s accent: “Oh that’s a lovely cup of tea Bob and I’d say ‘Glad you’re enjoying it Daniel’.”

The British actor also admitted that Dublin holds a special place in his heart ever since he ran the Dublin Marathon in 2004.

“I ran the Dublin Marathon a number of years ago and it was the first time I had ran under three hours so Dublin holds a really special place for me running.”

Taking part in this year’s Spar Great Ireland Run, Tony admitted it won’t be his first time at the Dublin event.

“I’ve actually been over and done it before a few years ago, it was a really great event in Phoenix Park,” he told Goss.ie.

The SPAR Great Ireland Run is the only race in Ireland to be recognised by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), the world governing body of athletics.

This year’s race will once again feature a superb field of international and national distance runners. To further incentivise elite Irish athletes, and raise the standard of 10k running in the country.

The Spar Great Ireland Run takes place April 11th in Phoenix Park – register online at www.greatirelandrun.org now.
