Careful now: Tedfest to represent Ireland at the Edinburgh Fringe

Father Ted festival Tedfest is going to be representing Ireland when it heads to the Edinburgh Fringe.

The annual event – which usually takes over four days on Aran Island – will be putting on an nightly hour long show.

Organisers have promised there will be a Lovely Girls competition, a Ted’s Got Talent competition.

And a number of Father Ted cast members are tipped to turn up to the nightly show at the Underbelly from July 31.

In the most recent Ted’s Got Talent competition, a middle-aged nun won for miming Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody while covering herself in chocolate sauce.

And event creator Peter Philips said this time round they are looking for people who are big into “the Craggy Island dream”.

“We’re looking for contestants for the Edinburgh show,” she told the Irish Independent. “We’ll consider all acts, we just want people who are passionate about living the Craggy Island dream.”
