Big Brother bosses ‘bringing back former housemates’ in bid to ‘shake up’ new series

Big Brother bosses are reportedly bringing back former housemates in a bid to “shake up” the new series.

The popular show returned to our screens earlier this month, with 16 new contestants moving into the famous house.

Despite the buzz about the show’s revival, viewing figures have dramatically fallen from 2.6million to 800,000 since the new season launch.

According to Celebrity Big Brother star Nicola McLean, producers are planning to boost ratings by bringing back some former fan-favourite contestants.

She told The Daily Star: “I have heard through the grapevine that they might be bringing in like previous contestants, but from the civilian series, so it won’t be celebs.”

“Yeah, like Chanelle [Hayes], Aisleyne [Horgan-Wallace], Pete [Bennett], they’re all sort of that kind of category. I haven’t heard exactly who it will be but I’ve just heard that.”

“I think it’s a very diverse cast, so I think it’s definitely moved with the times. You’ve got some strong characters in there. I’m enjoying it and I’m glad it’s back.”

Nicola McLean appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2012 and 2017

Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on Virgin Media One.
