Al Porter lands slot on BBC with some of Britain’s best comedians

Al Porter has landed a slot on the BBC and will be working with some big names.

The comedian is up for the IFTA’s first ever TV Rising Star award tonight and is making a name for himself abroad.

“I’ve a few recordings coming up over in London for a TV project,” he said.

The Tallaght native wasn’t able to reveal much but admitted that he will be working alongside funny men Jack Whitehall and Ricky Gervais.

“I know it’s annoying but it’s one of those things that I can’t stay too much about yet,” he told the Irish Independent.

“But I’ll be guesting on a very famous TV show alongside people like Jack Whitehall and Ricky Gervais.”

Home bird: The comedian has no plans to move away from home just yet | VIPIRELAND.COM

The 26-year-old made his UK TV debut earlier this year on BBC’s Live at the Apollo but has no plans to make the big move over just yet.

“I’m a real home bird and I just thought, ‘What’s the point in going out and wasting money on rent?’

“I have tried to buy a house, I put a bid on a house on Tallaght’s main street and I was seriously outbid, so it’s a tough market,” he added.

“I will eventually be getting a little starter home, but I’ll probably still live in Tallaght so why not stay at home?”
