Leah Taylor and Montel McKenzie have parted ways, just days after leaving the villa.
The couple struck up a romance prior to Casa Amor on the 2023 summer series of the hit dating show.
The couple were evicted together on day 38.
Leah said: “Our time in the villa was absolutely incredible, but we’ve actually decided to just be friends.”
“We get on really well and I do really like him, but I feel like for me it’s never enough. I’m obviously looking for someone long-term and shares the same values and morals as me.”
“I know I’m someone who has very, very high standards, but I feel like there’s just certain things in people that I’m not able to overlook.”
“I feel like life is a lot different in [the villa] and outside here. A lot more things come up and different situations happen. Once we’d spoken about it, we agreed that it’s not how we thought it would be. It’s sad, but at the same time I know we’re both on the same page.”
Leah continued: “I’m glad we built a really good connection while we were there and I know that we’re always going to be friends, but in terms of romantic; we’ve decided to end things.”
The news comes just hours after it was reported that Catherine Agbaje and Elom Ahlijah-Wilson had “secretly split”.
A source told The UK Sun: “The pair struggled to make it work in the real world and barely saw each other since the show ended.”
“They kept up a bit of a pretence, while they did the podcast circuit, but everyone knew it was over before it even really started.”
“Catherine’s sister made no secret about her feelings towards Elom so it’s no surprise she cooled things off straight away.”
It came just days after Elom revealed he didn’t want a girlfriend.
During their joint appearance on the Reality with Will Njobvu podcast, Elom was asked: “Do you feel like right now in your life you’re genuinely looking for a relationship?”
Hesitating, the Love Island star queried: “Right now am I genuinely looking for a relationship? Do you know what it is, like -”
As host Will began to laugh, Catherine interjected: “That’s a no!”
Explaining himself, Elom said: “Currently, I want to focus on myself -,” before Catherine once again interrupted: “He’s digging himself a hole, isn’t he? He’s digging himself a hole.”
Elom continued: “Coming out of the villa, there’s obviously a lot of limelight on both of us, and we both need to focus on ourselves.”
“So, I feel like if we both focus on ourselves, in due time, if we’re still talking to each other, we’re still bonding at the same time, in due time, we’re gonna get to that stage.”
Will then asked: “Catherine, do you want a man who’s ready for you?,” to which she instantly responded: “Yeah.”
“Obviously, I went on to Love Island because I do feel like I’m ready for a relationship. I’m ready to settle. I don’t want to build someone…”
