Tributes are pouring in after UTV Ireland aired its final news broadcast last night, as the channel will move to be3 on January 9.
Ireland Live gave it’s last news report on Friday evening at 5.30pm after two years on our screens, and people have since taken to social media to wish the cast and crew of UTV Ireland well.
Presenter Alison Comyn took to Facebook ahead of their final show, writing, “It was my privilege to anchor the very first Ireland Live news on UTV Ireland two years ago today, and I will present the very last one tomorrow.
“It’s been an amazing experience, and I’ve loved every minute. Thank you to the incredible team I’ve worked with and I wish you all the best of luck for the future. We each have our own memories….these are my personal ones. I’ve had the time of my life….”
UTV Ireland was acquired by Virgin Media last year, and will be rebranded as be3 from January 9 – as part of TV3’s new three channel line-up.
