Terrie McEvoy has begged people to ‘stay home’ this weekend after another gruelling hospital shift.

The influencer recently returned to work as a nurse in a Dublin hospital, and has been working on the frontline amid the coronavirus pandemic.

After completing another 13-hour hospital shift last night, Terrie took to Instagram to encourage her followers to stay at home this weekend, after spotting a group of teenagers on her drive home.

She said: “I know this weekend is a bank holiday weekend, and it’s Easter and the weather is to be really good…”

“I understand there is going to be a huge temptation to go to parks, and beaches, and public spots, and like I get it, I totally get it that people are frustrated and probably want to see their family and things like that.”

“But honestly, just stay at home this weekend,” Terrie said. “It would be an absolute insult to every single healthcare professional if we see gatherings on the news on Monday or Tuesday when they’re reflecting on the weekend.”

“I can’t tell you how real this is, and how heartbreaking it is, and I’m just begging people to stay in this weekend and be sensible, and yeah, just please.”

Terrie continued: “From people watching, I notice this kind of idea that it’s not going to affect them, or you know, if you catch it you’re going to get over it – but it’s the vulnerable [that will get it], and that’s what we’re seeing on the frontline, and it is heartbreaking.”

“And I’m just begging people to stay in this weekend and respect the vulnerable in Ireland, because that’s essentially what it boils down to.”

“Myself and David were driving home and we seen a group of teenagers, and like, I cant even tell you the disappointment when I seen them… because like they’re not all from the same household, and I just can’t believe their parents let them out.”

“But anyway, that’s just me feeling frustrated after a 13-hour shift, and I just thought I’d come on and ask you guys to please just keep up the amazing work, because we’re doing so, so good. And yeah, it would just be really appreciated,” she added.
