Shane Filan hopes to move back to Sligo – after bankrupcy forced him out of Ireland

Former Westlife star Shane Filan has revealed he yearns to be able to move back home to Sligo.

The World Of Our Own singer moved to Surrey, in England, to go bankrupt in 2012 after becoming €23 million in debt.

He has also been forced to sell off his €10 million luxury home in Sligo, which he designed from the foundations up, for just €800,000.

But despite the bad memories that are in Sligo, Shane told the Star he would rather be back in his native county with his wife and three kids.

He added: “All our family are still there, it’s home. Without a doubt we will move back there again.”

It comes as Shane is launching his autobiography My Side Of My Life, which details his fall into debt.

He ended up owing cash after the collapse of his property company with his brother Finbarr, which Shane hoped would be his nest egg for after Westlife.
