RTÉ release CCTV footage of vandalism suspects

RTÉ have released CCTV footage following last night’s “vandalism” incident.

Earlier this morning, the national broadcaster shared photos of their campus, after it had been “subjected to vandalism overnight”.

They have now released CCTV footage of the culprits, and you may recognise them.

Sharing the footage on Twitter, RTÉ wrote: “Unfortunately RTÉ was subject to vandalism early this morning, we have acquired footage of the incident from our CCTV system, in an attempt to identify the suspects we are sharing the footage on our social media channels.”

As many Twitter users suspected, the incident was in fact a PR stunt to promote season three of The Young Offenders – which premieres tonight on RTÉ One at 9:30pm.

The CCTV footage showed main characters, Conor and Jock, as they cycled around the RTÉ campus with spray paint cans.

In photos shared by RTÉ this morning, yellow paint was sprayed across a large RTÉ sign, and a penis was spray painted on the footpath.

The culprits also painted, “F*** you Healy,” on the ground – referencing their on-screen nemesis Sergeant Healy.
