Roz Purcell has admitted that 2016 has been the most “up-and-down” year for her.
The last year for the cookbook author hasn’t been easy – she had a high-profile break-up with The Blizzards frontman Bressie and her sister Rachel Purcell was diagnosed with cancer at the start of the year.
“It’s been a memorable year. It was probably the most up-and-down but also the most fun, which I know might sound strange,” she said.

Despite the downs of the year, Roz now looks to the positive moments of the year and how her sister’s battle has helped her family look on the bright-side of life.
“My sister Rachel’s diagnosis with cancer at the start really shocked our whole family,” she told the Irish Daily Mirror.
“But it’s kind of come full circle, in that it’s the new normal and she’s inspired our whole family.
“I suppose it puts everything into perspective. I am definitely not as stressed a person as I used to be.
“I’m enjoying each moment and I take the majority of opportunities that come to me.”
