The singer explained that his solo music has been influenced by some of the world’s top artists like Bob Dylan.

“[It’s] what I would pick up and play, people know my taste in music,” he told iHeart Radio.

“It’s going to be based around that. I’ve been heavily influenced by Bob Dylan, The Lumineers and people like that on this album.

Niall admitted that the writing process for his own solo work has been no different than when he was with One Direction – but he is faces some challenges

“The writing process for me is no different. When we would write with 1D, we would just split up anyway – go off on our own.

“The writing thing was no different apart from I wasn’t writing a big chorus or anything like that, I was writing to suit me,” he added.

“It’s been good and I’m looking forward to the music side of it.”
