Much-loved Irish comedian set to be a JUDGE on Ireland’s Got Talent

Mario Rosenstock is being lined up as a judge for Ireland’s Got Talent, according to reports.

The Irish Sun has revealed that the popular comedian visited TV3 recently for a meeting with station boss Bill Malone, who was spotted in the audience of Britain’s Got Talent earlier this month.

Sources have also revealed that TV3 will sign a deal to make an Irish version of Britain’s Got Talent in the next few weeks, and it looks like they’re already lining Mario up to be next David Walliams.

When contacted about the rumours, Mario said, “I was out in TV3 for a chat with Bill. I’m not specifying but there’s interest from both sides to make something work.”

“TV3 seems to be an exciting place at the moment. They are hiring lots of people. Linda Martin told me recently I would make a great judge on Britain’s Got Talent.

“I know Louis Walsh has said the same. I don’t know whether this is an insult or a compliment. But if it was put to me, I would have to think about it. There is potential there.

“I’d be both the nice and the nasty judge. I could be all the judges combined. I could be Louis and Simon and every judge they ever had on Britain’s Got Talent. If let, I’d be a nice but nasty judge in a dress.”

It was Louis Walsh who first suggested that Mario would make a perfect judge on Ireland’s Got Talent, back when RTÉ were looking to replace The Voice of Ireland on RTÉ One.

“It will be the same as Britain’s Got Talent, but I’d like it to be a bit more crazy,” Louis said about Ireland’s Got Talent back in 2015.

“I don’t know who the David Walliams judge would be, though. I think Mario would be great fun. I think he’s so under-rated here. He’s the one person I think should definitely get out of here.”

The news comes after the Irish Sun revealed that TV3 will announce Ireland’s Got Talent at their autumn launch on August 30, after Bill Malone was spotted in the BGT audience on June 1.

A TV3 source said, “Bill was over at Britain’s Got Talent for a reason. The fact that he was sitting near Darren Smith gives the game away. Only they were caught on camera, this would have stayed secret for a lot longer.”

“What decided TV3 was the constant stream of Irish kids turning up on UK shows. It’s a no-brainer. TV3 want to showcase Irish talent and doing it on a proven format like Ireland’s Got Talent will have people tuning in,” they added.
