Miriam O'Callaghan says husband Steve is 'in her soul' when they're apart

RTE star Miriam O’Callaghan doesn’t mind spending time apart from her husband Steve, because he’s apart of her “emotional DNA.”

The TV presenter has seen husband Steve Carson leave his job as head of programming at RTE to take on Head of Productions at BBC Belfast.

“On the days he is away we text each other all the time.

“Even when we are apart, I always feel that Steve is with me… So I am never lonely,” she told the Sunday Independent.

“He is in my soul, part of my heart and in my emotional DNA… I love him more every day and thank God all the time for sending him my way.”

Miriam also hit back at claims she demanded RTE bosses to allow her to pre-record her summer time chat show.

“I suppose, initially, when Steve was away in Belfast, I was worried that I’d have to be here in Dublin all summer at the weekends and that I’d never see him.

Talk show: Miriam considered having her show pre-recorded

“But it wasn’t the big thing that was reported. It wasn’t like I stormed in there going ‘let me pre-record!’ I was thinking maybe I’d spend more time in Belfast maybe.
